Dear Alumnus/Friend,
I am extremely pleased that the The Tech Report, the 2003-2004 annual report of
In the pages of the report, you ll read about Tech s continued focus on improving the educational experience of its students, both inside and outside the classroom. You ll see how that focus has resulted in dramatic improvement in student graduation rates, and how Tech has been singled out in a national study for achieving rapid gains in graduation rates, offering proof that significant increases in institutional performance are quite possible.
I know you will enjoy catching up with some of Tech s most accomplished alumni, several of whom you probably remember from their days of athletic competition. I think you ll be touched by the story of the late Corrie Armstrong, a talented and dedicated schoolteacher from Union Parish, who left a lasting impression on her former students and a lasting legacy at her alma mater.
Once you begin to peruse The Tech Report, I suspect that you won t be able to put it down until you ve read every bit of good news. And I feel certain that once you ve finished, you will share my renewed sense of pride and optimism in Louisiana Tech and its future.
Each year the University is blessed by the many alumni and friends who make gifts to the Tech Foundation. When you give, now or in the future, I urge you to provide support to the area of your greatest interest, whether it be an academic college, department, athletics, or any other area or program. As I ve said many times, your gifts truly make the difference between adequacy and excellence.
Thank you for your past and continued support and for what you mean to Louisiana Tech.
Sincerely,
Daniel D. Reneau
President
